Taiwan increases donation for W. Sumatra quake victims.

from THE JAKARTA POST -- FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2009 -- PAGE 10 In response to the massive destruction caused by the recent earthquake in West Sumatra, Taiwan decided to increase its donation to US$400,000 from $150,000 to the earthquake victims, the Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) in Indonesia said Thursday.

The Taiwanese government will give $200,000 to help disaster relief efforts in Indonesia. The remaining $200,000 has already been given to the Indonesian Red Cross by the Taiwan Red Cross.

"The Taiwan government will donate $100,000 to Padang and $50,000 to Pariaman, two most seriously damaged regions," TETO said in a press release sent to The Jakarta Post …
