Warehouse clubs are back.

After several years of decreasing membership and traffic, both of Atlanta's warehouse retail players, Sam's Club and Costco Companies Inc., are showing improved financial performance and say they are considering additional stores in this market.

"Look for us to open three to four additional sites in Atlanta in the not-so-distant future," said Sam's Club President and CEO Mark Hansen, who was in Atlanta April 2 and 3 visiting stores and looking at possible sites.

Hansen said Sam's, a division of Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT), will probably move its Roswell location to Alpharetta and may open an additional store inside the Perimeter.
