Vigil on godowns storing combustible items

KOLKATA, 10 OCT: In a recent circular, the city police top brass has ordered all the officers-in-charge to keep watch on combustible items kept in different godowns.

It may be recalled that city police chief, Mr GM Chakrabarti had requested the owners of houses, flats and godowns to give detailed information of tenants including their names and the kind of business they carry out from the premises and registration number of the trade to the local police station. This however has earned only lukewarm response.
