NINL may be hit by coal shortage.

JAJPUR, June 16: Production at the Nilachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL), located in Kalinga Nagar, here is likely to be hit by a shortage of coal which is used to fuel the coke oven and blast furnace.

It is for the first time the public sector steel unit is facing such a shortage and that too when imported coal is lying at Paradip port.

The shortage is due to delay by over three months in transporting the coal from the port area to the plant here.

Both the coke oven and the blast furnace of the NINL consume a special imported coal as fuel. The stocks have depleted and availability for the coke oven and blast furnace will last …
