Bihar MLA quits over assault inaction.

PATNA, June 16: In another setback for the 30 month-old coalition government in Bihar headed by chief minister Mr Nitish Kumar, a senior legislator of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mr Falguni Prasad Yadav, has resigned from the state Assembly.

Mr Yadav resigned yesterday, apparently peeved at the party's soft stance towards a minister in the ruling coalition government who had allegedly made a 'murderous' attack on him at a public rally last month.

Mr Yadav represents Chakai in the Bihar assembly.

The development has left the NDA managers in a tizzy since it is bound to have serious repercussions.
