When the fast-moving Chinese drywall crisis first came to light earlier this year, Sarasota custom home builder Lee Wetherington was convinced he had dodged the bullet.
He had not.
Wetherington's Willow Chase development in Nokomis now has two confirmed cases of the gas-releasing wallboard -- which has left the Lakewood Ranch-based builder scrambling to figure out what to do, and upset with the drywall suppliers he considers responsible.
"I'm blistering mad, I really just can't believe it," Wetherington said. "I'm angry for myself and I'm even more angry for my customers."
