Kampala: President [Yoweri] Museveni has created a new department in his office to fight corruption in the health sector.

The new department, christened the Drug Monitoring Unit (DMU), joins the burgeoning list of anti-graft institutions created by the President over the years to fight a vice that has bedevilled his regime since assuming power in 1986.

The new department will have a vote under State House, said Mr Tamale Mirundi, the president's press secretary.
