Kenyatta University Yet to Reinstate Sacked Lecturers.

Kenyatta University is yet to reinstate two lecturers dismissed three years ago for taking part in a union strike.

In a judgment delivered on September 10, Industrial Court judge Isaac Mukunya found that the employment of the two lecturers, Mrs Lucy Mugwere and Dr Joel Menya, had been wrongfully terminated and ordered their re-engagement at their former terms and conditions.

Mr Justice Mukunya also ordered the university to pay them salaries for the three years they have been out of employment. On Wednesday, Dr Menya said that the university had decided to contest the ruling. "Instead of complying with court orders, they have …
