BP Plastics upbeat on profit as global demand improves.

BP PLA STICS Holding Bhd, a maker of industrial plastic packaging, said profits this year should be "satisfactory" after global demand recovered from a slump earlier in the year.

"With rising confidence in the market and increasing global demand, we are optimistic that the group can achieve a satisfactory financial performance for the year ending December 31, 2009," managing director Lim Chun Yow told Business Times. Although it doesn't have a formal dividend policy, he said the company has been consistently paying 30 per cent to 40 per cent of net profit to shareholders since it was listed on Bursa Malaysia in 2005.
