GRAND PRAIRIE - Allegiance Corp. has completed an $11 million distribution center here, part of a companywide consolidation and automation project.
The company, previously a unit of Baxter International Inc., is a leading manufacturer and distributor of medical products. It employs about 1,400 in Texas in distribution, manufacturing and sales operations in El Paso, San Antonio, The Woodlands and Jacksonville, Texas.
The local move was part of a companywide push to streamline its distribution structure. As a result, Allegiance (NYSE: AEH) now operates 49 highly automated U.S. distribution centers, down from 90 centers in 1994.
