UPS Logistics blows off Miami to make Dallas its Latin base. (UPS Worldwide Logistics relocates to Dallas, TX)

IRVING - UPS Worldwide Logistics is abandoning Miami as its gateway to Latin America and moving its headquarters for that region to Dallas, where it wants up to 500,000 square feet of warehouse and office space.

As part of the Latin America relocation, 12 employees are moving from Miami to the Metroplex over the next six months.

Based in Atlanta, UPS Worldwide is an acknowledged contender for the estimated $430 billion logistics market. The company distributes products for Fortune 500 manufacturers. It is a subsidiary of the $600 million UPS Logistics Group Inc., whose parent company is United Parcel Service of America.
