ONE can be excused for feeling more than a tad bedazzled when Asia's array of entertainment options open in the coming years. For a start, Singapore's Universal Studios theme park will be the place the Transformers attraction makes its world debut, even before its birthplace of Hollywood in the United States.

Dubbed the jewel of world-class themed rides based on the blockbuster movie of the same name, the attraction will fuse 3D-HD media, mega special effects and stunning robotics with a ride system designed to transform people's perceptions of a theme park experience.

Universal Studios Singapore - the first and only one in Southeast Asia - will feature 23 other movie-themed rides but the park itself will be only one of the many magnets drawing visitors to the US$4 billion (RM14 billion) …
