Sep. 15--OAKLAND PARK -- Authorities have released a composite sketch of a man they say broke into a family's apartment Sunday morning and tried to abduct a 7-year-old girl. When the child woke up and saw the unfamiliar man's face, she yelled as hard as she could, scaring away the would-be kidnapper, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The attempted abduction happened at about 2:15 a.m. in the 4100 block of Northwest 21st Street, officials said. After breaking into the home, the man sneaked into a bedroom where the girl slept with her two brothers, ages 8 and 5, the Sheriff's Office said. Investigators say the man picked up the …
