UK Regional Trade in Goods estimates are released today, for the second quarter of 2009.
Exports
* The total value of UK exports for the 12 months ending June 2009 was AGBP232,411m, a decrease of AGBP3,239m (1.4 per cent) compared to the 12 months ending June 2008.
* During the same period the total value of exports for England fell by 1.2 per cent to AGBP169,137m. Exports from Wales rose by 8.4 per cent to AGBP10,258m, exports from Scotland rose by 3.9 per cent to AGBP14,233m, and exports from Northern Ireland fell by 0.4 per cent to AGBP5,800m.
* Within England, the South East had the largest total value of exports of AGBP38,857m for the 12 months ending June 2009. The North East had the smallest total value of exports of AGBP10,070m.
* The largest percentage change in the English regions for this period was for the West Midlands region which decreased by 12.5 per cent to AGBP14,352m. London had the smallest change, with an increase in exports of 0.2 per …
