6 September: President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with the delegation of the Communist Party of China. The meeting was held this morning at the President's Office. The head of the delegation is member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, Mr Zhang Gaoli.

Speaking at the meeting, President Nasheed said that Maldives and China enjoyed close friendly bilateral relations and that these ties had been strengthened over the years through enhanced cooperation in various aspects of development. He further said that Chinese assistance towards …
