Dalal Street Investment Journal has rated Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) as one of the Best Public Sector Enterprises in India. IOCL was incorporated in 1959 for production and marketing of petroleum products. Its seven refineries together recorded crude oil output of 47.4 million tonnes in 2007-2008 (44 million tonnes in 2006-2007).
