MADA CONDUCTING STUDY TO RESTORE IRRIGATION SYSTEM.

from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency JITRA, Sept 7 (Bernama) -- A study is being conducted to restore the irrigation system of padi growing areas under the Muda Agriculture Development Authority (Mada), Deputy Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Datuk Mohd Johari Baharom said.

He said the study by Mada had entered the final phase and would then be studied by the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) before going before the Cabinet for approval.

"Restoration of the irrigation system will be implemented under the Tenth Malaysia Plan (10MP) and will make the country self sufficient on rice," he said at a break of fast function organised by Kedah LPP (Farmers …
