NATURAL Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas has a lot on his hands. In an area which is constantly under public scrutiny, it is not easy meeting the immense expectations of both the government and the people.
However, in the one year plus since he assumed the post of minister, Uggah has embraced the challenges that come with the job.
"I've learnt a lot, but there is a lot to be done. This is not a popularity contest, and what is most important is that the job gets done," he said.
"I look forward to continuously playing an important role in national development. It is a very challenging task," he said.
As part of the ministry's on-going efforts to meet its expectations, new programmes and strategies are continuously being drawn up and implemented to put the ministry at the forefront. …
