FARMERS in Angus are being urged to secure their farm vehicles after a spate of thefts in the Kirriemuir area.

Thieves have been targeting agricultural machinery which has been left out in the open or in unlocked outbuildings.

In some cases, engine parts were stripped out overnight.

The first incident happened at Burnside Farm, Ballinshoe, between August 11, and August 19. Thieves stole a driveshaft from a potato harvester, and part of a driveshaft was taken from another.
