Court Upholds Death Sentence Against Two Men.

The Court of Appeal on Friday dismissed prayers of two men to overturn decisions of lower courts in western Uganda in which they were convicted of aggravated robbery and handed the death sentences.

Mbarara High Court found Ibrahim Ruhweza guilty of aggravated robbery in November 2001 at Karokarungi village, Nyabini Sub-county in Kamwenge whereas Fort Portal High Court found Moses Kamukama guilty of the same count in March 1999 at Rwemirabyo Village, Bumbaire Sub-county in Bushenyi.

The two men wanted the Court of Appeal to quash the decisions made by Judges P. K Mugamba and Justice Lameck Mukasa respectively in Fort Portal …
