Section: General News - President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will attend the African Union (AU) Summit as she leaves for Tripoli, Libya at 12:10 am tomorrow Monday (Aug. 31).
The two-day summit will run from August 30-31, 2009. The 53-member African Union is the premier institution and principal organization for the promotion of accelerated socio-economic integration of the African continent. Libya is the chair of the organization.
In a radio interview aired over DZRB Radyo ng Bayan, Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said that President Arroyo will visit Libya with a lean delegation composed of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo, Labor Secretary Marianito Roque, National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales, Remonde and Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Rafael Seguis.
