DPJ might exhaust proportional representation pool

The Democratic Party of Japan has fielded considerably more candidates in proportional representation blocs for Sunday's House of Representatives election than it did in the last general election.

The move has been done to avoid running out of candidates should many of them win their single-seat constituency races, but a Yomiuri Shimbun survey suggested the DPJ may still run out of candidates in some blocs, including the ones for Kyushu and Kinki.
