Section: General News - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is preparing to classify the use of braces in orthodontics as medical equipments after a teenage girl died after wearing fake braces for fashion purposes.

FDA Deputy Secretary-General, MD Pongpan Wongmanee, stated that the FDA had found many kinds of contaminating chemicals in fake braces such as lead, antimony, selenium and arsenic. He cited that the accumulation of toxins could harm the kidney, leading to complications and possibly death. He warned …
