TO lure more foreign retirees to participate in the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Programme, Tourism Malaysia plans to leverage on the heritage listing status of Penang and Malacca city, which has been accorded by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).

Tourism Malaysia board of directors member Datuk Kee Phaik Cheen said the status of the two cities would help market the country to regions such as Europe and Australia where heritage conservation efforts are widely promoted.

Kee said one selling point could be dilapidated pre-war houses located in George Town, Penang, and Malacca.
