RAWANG: An 11-year-old girl was killed while eight others were injured, one seriously, in a pile-up involving a lorry and five vehicles on the North-South Expressway early yesterday.

Chai Lee Mei was killed on the spot in the 1.30am crash near the Bukit Tagar exit, after she was thrown out of the Perodua Rusa she was in.

The crash occurred when a Nissan Latio spun out of control on the outside lane.

Selangor traffic chief Superintendent Che Hussin Omar said the car hit the divider and came to a halt on the fast lane, facing oncoming traffic.
