I read the article by Shaun Greaney (Star, August 19) with dismay and disbelief.

I have heard some ridiculous statements from council and Government bodies, but this must rank among the best.

Our town is in real trouble, and shops are closing because of the loss of trade due to the retail parks at Trostre and Pemberton.

So, what are we doing to try and save Llanelli from becoming a ghost town? Has the council tried to help the small businesses?
