Six-year-old dies of fall from school roof.

BALURGHAT, 26 AUG: Deep Barman (6), a class one student of the Badalpur Primary School, under Balurghat police station, died today after falling from the roof of the school building. The villagers alleged the school-teachers had not arrived in school on time and taking advantage of their absence, the victim went up the veranda grillwork and climbed to the roof. The school authority denied that the teachers had come late.

According to the police, the boys had been playing around on the school ground before Deep climbed up to the roof. The victim failed to maintain his balance on the roof slope and fell down, police said.
