Iran: Iran's Prominent Reformist Figure Resigns from Party.

Section: General News - Saeed Hajjarian, a prominent reformist figure, announced that he would step out of the mainstream reformist party, Mosharekat (Participation), for its corruption.

Addressing a court hearing here in Tehran on Tuesday, Hajjarian also asked for the Iranian people's pardon for the damages he has inflicted on the society and also for corruption within his party.

Meantime, Hajjarian stressed that he had no hands in the riots and "bitter events" after the 10th presidential election in Iran.
