Perhaps the biggest debate topic at the Display Holography Symposium was the definition of what constitutes a holographic display. The issue was brought to everyone's attention right from the beginning by the presence on stage of a huge display created by Dr Frank Fan, President of Shenzhen AFC Technology Co. Ltd.
This massive system employing 64 CCD cameras driven by 8 computers was mounted on the stage and was able to project a life-size image of audience members onto the screen.
