THE DEPARTMENT of Health (DOH) should return to giving weekly updates on the number of confirmed Influenza A(H1N1) cases in the country to keep the public in an elevated state of readiness ahead of a potential surge by the virus, the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) said yesterday.
Our sense is it is better for the DOH to resume its routine reporting as to the number of people infected and the number of fatalities. This way we put everyone in a constant high state of alertness, particularly in avoidance, said TUCP secretary general Ernesto Herrera in a statement.
