Union packs a punch in row over pub landlord's 'tenancy from hell'.

A Union has called for a Burton pub company to be thrown out of a trade organisation after claiming its treatment of one of its Derbyshire tenants was "disgraceful." The GMB union has urged the British Institute of Innkeepers to strip Punch Taverns of its membership over a dispute between the pub giant and Dave Mountford, who runs the Rising Sun pub in Middleton.

Mr Mountford, who took on the lease of the pub in March 2007, claims he was told by Punch that the company would invest GBP180,000 to refurbish the premises if he agreed to take it on.
