Aug. 21--With accusations flying both ways, it's important to let the cops and courts sort out exactly what happened between a band of bicyclists and a Lexus driver on State Road A1A through Boca Raton last week.

But no matter whose version of events bears out, the heated confrontation underscores the simmering animosity between cyclists and motorists trying to share South Florida's busy roads, and shows how ugly things can get when tempers flare. And how unnecessary it all is.
