Pawar should consider NCP-Cong merger, says Digvijay Singh.

MUMBAI, 20 AUG: Notwithstanding Mr Sharad Pawar's comments, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh today said the NCP chief should consider merging his party with the Congress as Sonia Gandhi's foreign-origin issue was no longer relevant.

Now the issue is buried and NCP should end its separate existence, he advised much to the discomfiture of the state NCP. Mr Pawar had yesterday ruled out the possibility of merger with Congress, terming as cheap publicity statements in this regard made by that party.
