Aug. 20--HOLLYWOOD -- Authorities say it's possible the snake that bit a cable worker this morning is a highly venomous green mamba native to Africa. The Comcast employee was working outside a home in the 2300 block of Taylor Street about 9:30 a.m. when the snake in a tree bit him, Hollywood Fire Rescue Division Chief Mark Steele said. He ran to one of the apartments nearby with a bloody arm and asked for help, said Shirley Konefal, who answered the door . Her husband called 911. The worker told her his arm was starting to swell and numb.
