Aug. 20--DEERFIELD BEACH -- A teenager hitching a ride on the back bumper of a friend's sport-utility vehicle was injured Wednesday afternoon when he fell off the moving vehicle, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said the 14-year-old boy was part of a group of seven children walking home from Deerfield Beach High School when an acquaintance stopped to offer them a ride.
Four members of the group got inside the SUV, while three climbed onto the back bumper, Concepcion said. When the driver of the SUV made a turn at the 200 block of Northeast 47th Street, the 14-year-old fell off.
