SED acquires companies, taps lucrative market
Until recently, SED International Holdings Inc. sold computers only in the Southeast. But now sales to Latin America represent almost half of SED's business and are still rising quickly.
Total revenues for the Tucker-based company should pass $1 billion this fiscal year, according to Chairman and CEO Gerald Diamond.
"You better be growing or the world will pass you by," said Mark Jordan, an analyst with A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. The computer distribution business is rapidly consolidating, he said. Jordan, like the other two analysts tracked by Zacks Investment Research, rates SED (Nasdaq: SECX) a "buy."
