CARLISLE boss Greg Abbott has told his players not to dwell on their defensive nightmare last weekend as they prepare to face Oldham Athletic at Brunton Park in the Carling Cup tonight (7.45pm).

The U's lost their League One curtainraiser 3-1 at home to Brentford on Saturday, with Abbott blaming the sloppy goals they conceded for the defeat.

But Carlisle have an early chance to get that game out of their system as they kick off their cup campaign with a first round tie against the Latics, managed by former Darlington boss Dave Penney.
