Section: General News - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo launched here today the National Youth Service Corps program, one of the priority projects of the Arroyo administration through the National Youth Commission (NYC) to underscore the importance of the youth in community action.

The President has earlier issued Executive Order No. 788, a policy that promotes the role of the youth in national service to avert the mitigating impact of the global financial meltdown.

The Executive Order tackles the need to involve the youth 18 to 24 years old in the national service program through the National Youth Service Corps (NSC) and Youth Conservation Corps (YCC).
