Aug. 8--Q: Hey Ira, who is really coaching the Miami Heat: Erik Spoelstra or Pat Riley? A couple of weeks ago, Riley said that Mike Beasley will get time at small forward. Now he's proclaiming Mario Chalmers as the starting point guard. I know Riley is head of personnel moves, but shouldn't Spoelstra decide who is on the court for games? Is this Stan Van Gundy Part II? -- Patrick.
A: I, too, have been surprised by how definitive Pat has been in talking about the role Michael will have at small forward and drawing a line when it comes to Chalmers starting no matter who is added. My sense is Erik hardly is sold on Michael as a small forward. I'm …
