In this age of mega-mergers in the banking industry, Republic Security Bank Chairman and CEO Rudy Schupp has grown his West Palm Beach-based bank from one office 14 years ago into one of the area's largest regional banks.

The bank has 32 branch offices in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Last year, it established a substantial presence in Broward with its purchase of Family Bank and in Miami-Dade by acquiring County National Bank.

South Florida is the state's richest banking market. Measured by total deposits, Miami-Dade ranks No. 1 with $35 billion, Broward second with $22 billion and Palm Beach third with $17 billion. Deposits in the No. 4 spot are just $10 billion. …
