I hope Mamata Banerjee does not get carried away just because around 600,000 people congregated on 21 July. It is true that people are disillusioned with the Left and would be happy to see it go. However, there is a genuine apprehension that Miss Banerjee may not be the fittest person to be given the responsibility of running the state. She is basically a street politician who revels in mud racking and protests. She is not known for showing any maturity in any of her actions. She is an off-the-cuff politician who revels in dramatising situations.

The greatest defect of the Trinamul Congress is, it does not have a structured organisation and works according to the whims and fancies of its leader. Hence, this party lacks …
