As Nairobi hosts the 8th Agoa Forum this week, it is emerging that many countries are yet to exploit the huge business opportunities created by the act. US envoy to Kenya Michael Ranneberger says lack of partnerships between the country's traders and the USA stands in the way of full exploitation.

On their own, Kenyan firms may lack the requisite knowledge on adherence to set guidelines and procedures for the American market.

"Dealing with firms that already know the market will help to grow business. The opportunities under Agoa are critical and can help Kenya," he said. He challenged the government to fast-track economic and political reforms that would yield a suitable business environment.
