PNOC unit eyes 300-MW power plant.

PNOC-EXPLORATION CORP. PLANS TO PUT UP A 300-megawatt natural gas power plant that will make use of the excess capacity of Shell Petroleum Explorations 3,000-MW Malampaya deep water gas-to-power project.
We are in the final stage of our study. Were just looking into the costing and technical aspect of the power plant, said PNOC-EC chair Jacinto Paras.
We will be open to a joint venture since the cost to put it up is high. We cannot predict who to partner with but there are proposals. I could not disclose them since [these are] mostly verbal [discussions] and there are no formal agreements made yet, Paras explained.
