Since events last week, the highest corridors of power in Kenya have been playing a song by Heavy D and the Boyz that hit the charts a few years ago.

The lyrics went like this: "Now that we've found love what are we gonna do with it..." because since the very successful visit by Kibaki to Raila's stronghold, love is in the air.

But we must t we must not forget that politicians and young lovers have one thing in common and it is no wonder this visit has brought back into focus the marriage that is the PNU and ODM coalition.

Marriage is as old as civilisation itself and began as an arrangement for procreation and property distribution. It is unfortunate that the PNU-ODM marriage was not subjected to the concept of "bundling" widely used in the 16th and …
