Section: General News - Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has postponed his planned visit to Myanmar (Burma) on Friday as it would have coincided with the military tribunal ruling on opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, the Bangkok Post reports.

The prime minister is now expected to visit in the third week of August, acting government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn said on July 28.

Mr Abhisit was to have left for Naypyidaw, Burma's new capital, on Friday in his first visit to Burma since taking up office in December last year.

But Burmese Prime Minister Thein Sein sent word through the Burmese embassy that the country was not ready to welcome him on that day …
