MAKERERE University has got support from the Uganda rugby union and Hima Cement in their bid to construct a 20,000-seater stadium. The work is in the third phase at the university's Nsibirwa grounds.

The first phase included levelling and planting grass, while the second phase involved building of the first terraces of 7000 seats.

Yesterday, the union offered 200 bags of cement to complete the third phase -- the perimeter wall, fence and dressing rooms.

The cement is part of the 1000 bags Hima Cement gave to the union to develop rugby. Already St. Mary's College Kisubi has benefitted with 150 bags of cement.
