100 Years Ago - Britannic scores right royal coup

In connection with the visit of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra to Birmingham to open the new university buildings, the Britannic Assurance Company, whose head offices were on the route of the procession, distinguished itself by the excellence of its decorative arrangements.

Among business premises, indeed, the building, the architecture of which lends itself splendidly to such purposes, was one of the most picturesque in the city.
