SUDAN wants state minister for foreign affairs Henry Okello Oryem dismissed over his recent remarks about the possibility of arresting President Omar el-Bashir.

Last week, Oryem said Uganda could execute the ICC international arrest warrant if Bashir visits Uganda for the Smart Partnership meeting, scheduled to start on Sunday. Oryem's statement prompted angry reactions from Khartoum, as well as an apology from President Yoweri Museveni.

Sudan's announcement that Bashir would delegate another government official to attend the conference was thought to have settled the diplomatic incident.
