Section: General News - The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Smartmatic-Total Information Management Corporation (TIM) consortium to file their respective comment on the petition questioning the legality of the P7.2-billion poll automation contract they entered into.

The Comelec and Smartmatic-TIM consortium signed the contract on July 10, 2009 paving the way for the full automation of the May 10, 2010 national elections.

In an en banc session, the SC gave the respondents a non-extendible period of ten days within which to submit their respective explanation regarding the petition filed by the Concerned Citizen Movement …
