Looking to become more of a one-stop shop for data-warehouse customers, Sybase this week intends to purchase data-warehouse meta-data management developer Intellidex, makers of the Warehouse Control Center tools suite.

The suite, which helps users develop warehouses based on databases from vendors such as Sybase and Oracle, is intended to boost Sybase's data-warehouse arsenal by providing services for managing meta data from distributed data-mart and data-warehouse environments. Meta data is information about the origin of data in a warehouse or mart.
